Maher Gharib, Director of the Media Department at Zamalek Club, confirmed that the offer from Libyan club Al-Ahli Benghazi to sign team left-back Ahmed Fatouh was rejected.
Zamalek Club received an offer from Libyan club Al-Ahli Benghazi to buy Fatouh for one million dollars.
Maher Gharib said via DMC channel: "The Zamalek board was negotiating with Fatouh's agent regarding the offer from Libyan club Al-Ahli Benghazi."
He added: "At the beginning of the season, Zamalek rejected an offer from Turkish club Konyaspor to sign Fatouh for one million dollars."
He continued: "Zamalek officially informed Fatouh's agent of its rejection of any offers, whether for sale or loan."
He went on: "Why doesn't Zamalek renew Fatouh's contract? But the question is why everyone focuses on Fatouh, when there are 9 other players whose contracts expire at the end of the season."
He stressed: "Renewing for Fatouh or any other player will be done according to the best interests of Zamalek Club, and since Zizo's departure, the policy has changed."
Players leaving for free?: "Does Zamalek have the luxury of paying the amounts demanded by players? Hossam Abdel-Magid left because of this issue. The club was clear from the start; any player who renews will do so under the club's conditions. If they refuse, that is their decision, because Zamalek does not end."
Fatouh's contract with Zamalek Club expires at the end of the current season, and he is eligible to sign for any club starting in January.
