Thomas Tuchel, the coach of the England national team, agreed with Jude Bellingham's statements after the victory over the Norway national team, but he stressed the need to deliver a better performance.
Bellingham had led England to a 2-1 victory by scoring both goals of the match, qualifying his team for the World Cup semi-finals.
Bellingham responded to Tuchel's criticisms, confirming that he might not know what it takes to play in difficult conditions and against players like Haaland and Odegaard.
Tuchel said in the press conference in response to Bellingham: "Certainly, no one disagrees with that."
He added: "I am impressed by the effort the players made, by the collective spirit and faith, and the ability to overcome difficulties and achieve victory; this is something worthy of praise."
He continued: "But I am a football coach, and I believe that we can play better, and in general it was not a match at the highest level."
He went on: "We have delivered better matches than that, and I see that we must improve and present better football."
Tuchel stressed the importance of developing the attacking performance, saying: "We need to improve offensively to give other players the chance to appear."
He continued: "But of course Bellingham and Harry Kane are decisive players; they love to take responsibility and show up in important moments."
Tuchel concluded his statements: "I am proud and happy with the team, but we want to deliver the best possible performance because great performance is what leads to victory, and I still see that we can be better."
Jude Bellingham scored both goals for the England national team, while Andreas Schjelderup scored for the Norway national team.
The England national team has returned to the World Cup semi-finals for the first time in 8 years, specifically in the 2018 edition held in Russia.
Meanwhile, the Norway national team led by Erling Haaland exited the tournament after a wonderful adventure that ended at the quarter-final stage.
England became the first team to prevent striker Haaland from scoring in a competitive international match since the game against Austria in October 2024.
