Egypt national team player Imam Ashour thanked his teammates and the team's technical staff after exiting the World Cup.

Egypt's national team bid farewell to the World Cup from the round of 16 after losing in an exciting match against Argentina 3-2.
Imam wrote on his Instagram account: "Praise be to God for everything, there are defeats that hurt more than any words, and this is one of them".
He continued, "I apologize to every person who attached themselves to this dream, and to everyone who believed in us and was waiting for us to make them happy. We wished to continue the journey and achieve what befits your support, and we fought with everything we have, but it is God's decree and what He willed has come to pass".
He added, "All thanks and appreciation to the technical staff, and to all my fellow players for the great effort, spirit, and fighting until the last moment".
He directed a message of thanks to the fans and said: "The greatest thanks to everyone who supported us, stood behind us, and believed in us from the first day until the last minute".
He concluded his speech: "I promise you that we will return stronger, and we will continue to fight with everything we have to make you happy and honor the name of Egypt, long live Egypt always".
Imam Ashour played all of Egypt's national team matches in the World Cup and scored two goals in the tournament against Belgium and Australia.
