The Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, coach of Ghana, admitted Colombia's right to qualify for the round of 16 of the World Cup at the expense of his team.
Colombia defeated Ghana with a goal to nil in the match held in the round of 32 of the World Cup.
Queiroz said via beIN Sports: "Colombia imposed its control on the match and created many opportunities, and we could not regain the ball from them easily."
He added, "The Ghanaian team played with determination and tried to move forward, but for certain reasons, the final touch was not of the required quality. In the end, the better team won."
He emphasized, "The injury we suffered at the beginning of the match came at a bad time and affected our defensive organization, so the team's discipline declined."
He continued, "The substitute player needed some time to get into the atmosphere of the match, and we conceded the only goal of the match during that period."
John Arias scored the only goal of the match for Colombia in the 14th minute.
The Colombian team secured a spot in the round of 16 to face Switzerland in the round of 16.
The Ghanaian team became the eighth African team to exit the World Cup after Tunisia, South Africa, Senegal, Algeria, Congo, Cape Verde, and Ivory Coast.
