Nabil Jawhar, the Minister of Youth and Sports, expects the Egyptian national team to perform greatly in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
The Egyptian national team has qualified for the Round of 16 to face Argentina in a highly anticipated match next Tuesday.
The Minister of Youth and Sports said via DMC channel: "The achievement has been doubled, the mental and psychological pressure has become less after qualifying, and I expect us to perform greatly in the Round of 16."
He added, "When I saw the solidarity and enthusiasm of the team during the camp in Saudi Arabia last March, I realized that this team would perform well and achieve success in the World Cup."

The Egyptian national team qualified for the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup at the expense of Australia, achieving the best accomplishment in the history of Egyptian football globally.
The Egyptian team won against Australia 4-2 in penalties, after the original time and extra time ended in a draw with one goal for each team at Dallas Stadium.
Imam Ashour scored the goal for Egypt, while Mohamed Hani scored the equalizer for Australia by mistake in his own net.
With this victory, Egypt awaits the winner between Argentina and Cape Verde shortly to face them in the Round of 16 next Tuesday at 7 PM at Atlanta Stadium.
