Egypt's national team qualified for the round of 16 after winning against Australia on penalties and is preparing to face Argentina.
Imam Ashour, the Egyptian national team player, said via On Sport: "I am very happy after achieving the victory against Australia in a difficult match, and I thank the players, the technical staff, and the fans who supported us".
He added, "I had a feeling on the night of the match that the game would go to 120 minutes".
He continued, "We will not return to Egypt except with a medal, God willing".
He concluded, "I say to Saafan the younger (goalkeeper coach of the Egyptian national team), don't worry, we are men players, the technical staff treats us as if we are their sons".
