Mohamed Aboutrika, the former Egyptian national team player, criticized the performance of Francois Letexier, the referee of the team's match against Argentina.
Egypt's national team bid farewell to the World Cup competitions from the round of 16 after a loss in the dying moments to Argentina.
Argentina's national team turned their two-goal deficit into a 3-2 victory, securing their qualification to the quarter-finals.
Aboutrika said on beIN Sports channel: "Egypt's national team had more luck and we thank the players for the performance, but they snatched it from us and Messi, may God forgive him".
He continued, "We played a model 70 minutes against Argentina, but Messi succeeded in turning the match around".
He stressed, "Without Messi, Argentina has no presence in this tournament; any other player would have collapsed after the penalty kick, but he succeeded in changing the match result in the last quarter of an hour".
Aboutrika went on, "A historic tournament for Hossam Hassan and the Egyptian national team, and we thank them for what they presented and we are proud of you".
He added, "The match referee was not fair with us and we were wronged; Argentina's third goal should have been disallowed due to a penalty in favor of Mohamed Salah in the same way our goal was disallowed after a foul by Lisandro Martinez".
Aboutrika concluded his statements, "The referee was influenced by Argentina's pressures and that feeling appeared to the players; thus we played against Messi, Argentina, the referee, and FIFA".
Egypt's national team took the lead through Yasser Ibrahim in the 15th minute, and Lionel Messi missed a penalty in the 21st minute, with the Pharaohs securing the first half 1-0.
Mustafa Zico scored a goal in the 58th minute before it was disallowed by the match referee after resorting to video technology due to a foul on Marwan Attia.
Zico succeeded in scoring the second goal after it was counted this time in the 67th minute from a pass by Haitham Hassan.
Argentina's national team snatched the match in the final minutes after Christian Romero, Lionel Messi, and Enzo Fernandez scored respectively in the 79th, 83rd, and 92nd minutes.
