Mohamed Salah said via his official Instagram account: "I know you are still feeling sad, but I promise you that I will do everything in my power so that this is a new beginning for Egyptian football on the international stage".
He continued, "Qualifying for the World Cup alone will not be enough, and even just participating will not be enough for us".
He concluded, "This team deserves your trust, and we will work with all our strength to achieve what the Egyptian public is waiting for".
