The Libyan streets witnessed noisy celebrations, with Egypt's national team qualifying for the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup at the expense of the Australian national team, yesterday evening, Friday.
Libyan fans were keen to be present in the streets to watch the Pharaohs' match against the Australian national team on the large screens designated for that purpose.
Libyan fans lit flares in the streets in celebration of the Egyptian national team's advancement, the current representative of the Arabs and the African continent in the World Cup alongside the Moroccan national team, to the round of 16 of the World Cup competitions.
The Egyptian national team had set a date with its counterpart, the Argentine national team, in the round of 16 of the World Cup, after the Pharaohs succeeded in overcoming the obstacle of Australia via penalty kicks with a score of 4-2.
