General Youssef El-Dahshouri Harb passed away from our world this morning, after a rich career in Egyptian sports, whether as a player with Tersana Club or the Egyptian national team, or as an administrator after assuming the management of the Egyptian Football Association.
El-Dahshouri Harb had begun his career with the round sorceress through the gateway of Tersana Club, where he excelled wearing the hammers' jersey during the 1960s.
El-Dahshouri Harb also represented Egypt as a player and wore the Pharaohs' jersey in several matches before retiring and turning to work in the Ministry of Interior, until he attained the rank of general.
El-Dahshouri Harb ran in the football association elections and assumed the presidency of the association from 2000 until 2004, but he later lost the elections in the following term to Samir Zaher.
During that period, El-Dahshouri Harb contracted with Mahmoud El-Gohary, the Egyptian football legend, to return to lead the national team in the World Cup qualifiers, but luck did not favor the Pharaohs in qualifying for the World Cup.
His son, Mohamed El-Dahshouri, had announced his death this Friday morning at the age of 85.
