What is the First Class Medal that the Egypt national team received?
The Sports Medal is one of the honorary awards granted by the Presidency of the Republic to distinguished individuals in the sports field, especially those who achieve international accomplishments and victories. This medal can also be awarded to sports teams, bodies, clubs, or similar entities.
The medal consists of three classes: first, second, and third. They are all similar in shape but differ in size. The medal takes the form of a five-pointed star covered with green enamel, fixed above a white disk surrounded by a blue circle containing the five interlocking rings that symbolize the Olympic emblem.
In the center of the star is a circular disk inscribed with the word "Sports," and the medal is suspended by a horizontal clasp bearing the shape of the five interlocking Olympic rings.
The method of wearing the Sports Medal
The method of wearing the Sports Medal varies according to the classes. The first class is worn around the neck with a white silk ribbon that has green borders on both ends. The second-class medal is worn on the left side of the chest with a silk ribbon embroidered with a rosette, while the third-class medal is worn on the left side of the chest with a silk ribbon.
The medal includes a rosette for the first and third classes, while the second class has a rosette and a bow. The medal has a uniform-colored ribbon for all three classes.
