Egypt's women's table tennis team wins gold at the Mediterranean Games

The Egyptian women's table tennis team won the gold medal in the team competition at the Mediterranean Games "Taranto 2026," which continues until September 3, with the participation of 3,803 athletes from 26 countries.

The Egyptian women's table tennis team defeated Italy in the final match with a score of 3-0. The team had qualified for the final after beating Serbia 3-0 in a strong match decided by the outstanding performance of the Egyptian players.

To date, the Pharaohs have won 31 medals at the Mediterranean Games, placing Egypt in contention with the leading nations and keeping it atop the Arab countries with 10 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

The 20th edition of the Mediterranean Games is currently being held in the Italian city of Taranto and will continue until September 3, with the participation of 3,803 athletes from 26 countries.

The Egyptian delegation is competing in 23 sports at the Mediterranean Games: archery, athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoe and kayak, equestrian, fencing, aquatics and short-course swimming, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, padel, rowing, sailing, shooting, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, finswimming, and amateur sliding.

Egypt ranks sixth among the countries with the most medals in the history of the Mediterranean Games, with a total of 620 various medals: 156 gold, 209 silver, and 255 bronze.
