The Egyptian handball team began its campaign at the Mediterranean Games with a decisive victory over Portugal.
Egypt defeated Portugal 38-27 in their Group A match.

The Pharaohs ended the first half leading 18-14, then extended their advantage in the second half to secure their opening tournament win by an 11-goal margin.
The Mediterranean Games are being held in Italy from August 21 to September 3.
Egypt's handball team competes in Group A alongside Italy, Portugal, and Kosovo, while Group B includes Tunisia, Algeria, Greece, and Cyprus.
