We wash our clothes ourselves.. Alex Ayoubi reveals the behind-the-scenes of his suffering with Nigeria

Fulham and Nigeria international Alex Iwobi revealed the details of the hardships he faced when joining his country's national team camps.

Iwobi said in statements published by the Moroccan site Al Bultula: "In the Nigeria camp I stayed in a room shared by three people, and we washed our own training kits".

He added: "Sometimes you have to book your own flight ticket, and sometimes you even pay for an upgrade if you want more comfort".

He continued: "The pitch was half natural grass and half artificial turf, with some parts worn out, and if you made one wrong pass the coach would shout at you".

He concluded: "Despite that, representing my country remains a source of pride for me, despite the difficult conditions players face during national team gatherings with the Super Eagles".
