English Premier League club Everton has made a surprising decision after strong interest from Saudi club Al-Hilal to sign the Senegalese player Iliman Ndiaye this summer.
The Saudi club had signed Dutch player Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United and aspires to strengthen the team's ranks with more major deals.
Everton plans to thwart Iliman Ndiaye's transfer
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano had clarified that Al-Hilal conducted initial talks with Ndiaye to know his position on wearing the leader's jersey during the next season.
The 26-year-old player holds a contract with English club Everton until the summer of 2029 and is considered one of the main pillars in the first team's attack.
But the famous English journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that the matter, so far, has been limited to negotiations by the Saudi club with the player and his representatives.
Jacobs added via his account on the "X" platform: "Ndiaye has received an initial offer from Al-Hilal, without Everton receiving any official contact so far, and the latter is trying to extend the player's contract".
The Senegalese international winger joined the ranks of English Everton coming from French Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2024, for 18 million euros.
Iliman Ndiaye played 34 matches with the Toffees squad in all competitions during the past season 2025/2026 and succeeded in scoring 6 goals and assisting 3 others.
