The Turkish Football Federation announced the formation of a temporary committee responsible for selecting referees for Turkish Cup matches, until the procedures for appointing the new Central Referees Committee are completed.
The Turkish Federation clarified, in an official statement published by Turkish newspapers, that the referees who will officiate Turkish Cup matches will be selected by the deputy head of the Referees Committee along with its members.
This step comes in light of recent developments concerning the Referees Committee, as the Turkish Federation indicated that the committee's head has been suspended.
The Federation confirmed that work is currently ongoing to form a new referees committee, with the temporary committee assuming responsibility for selecting referees for the Turkish Cup matches scheduled on October 6, 7, and 8, until the appointment process is complete.
The Turkish Football Federation noted that the head and members of the new Referees Committee will be announced to the public in the coming days.
The Federation's decision comes within the framework of measures it has taken to deal with recent developments related to the refereeing system in Turkish football.
