German Thomas Tuchel, the technical director of the England national team, decided to take new precautionary measures before facing Norway in the 2026 World Cup, after the strong injury suffered by his player Jordan Henderson.
The England national team had secured its place in the quarter-finals following its exciting victory over Mexico with a score of 3-2, but the joy of qualification turned into shock after Henderson suffered a serious wrist injury that ended his tournament journey.
Henderson was injured after falling while jumping over the advertising boards beside the pitch during the celebration of the win over Mexico.
Tuchel confirmed that the injury came suddenly, and said in statements to the British "BBC" network: "Jordan just fell and injured his wrist. The injury looks very bad, and it is indeed serious, and does not fit at all with the happy atmosphere we are living in".
The same network reported that Tuchel will warn his players against jumping over barriers, and will direct them to avoid repeating such celebrations in the future, out of concern for their safety as the tournament enters its decisive stages.
The England national team is preparing for a strong match against Norway in the quarter-final round, to be held in the early hours of Sunday morning.
