FIFA Classification Criteria
According to this classification, all players receive points ranging between 0 and 10 in three categories: offensive strength, creative skill, and defensive contribution, while goalkeepers are evaluated in ball possession and defending the goal.
The Power Rankings classification shows the top 100 players in each category, and this classification is updated after each match played in the 2026 World Cup, as this classification is a measure of the players' performance in the matches and the tournament as a whole.
Brilliance of the Pharaohs' Goalkeeper
Mustafa Shobier ranked fourth in the list of the best goalkeepers of the 2026 World Cup tournament, rising five new places after the level he displayed in Egypt's match against Argentina in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
Al Ahly goalkeeper reached 7.89 points in defending his goal, placing him on the list of the best goalkeepers of the 2026 World Cup so far, behind Diogo Costa, Portugal's goalkeeper, who leads with 8.89 points.
In second place came Gregor Kobel, Switzerland's goalkeeper, with a rating of 8.21 points, while third place went to Orlando Gil, Paraguay's goalkeeper, with 8.09 points.
Outperforming the Greats
Shobier outperformed many international goalkeepers in that list, most notably Unai Simon, Spain's goalkeeper in fifth place, Orjan Nyland, Norway's goalkeeper in sixth place, and Vozinha, Cape Verde's goalkeeper in seventh place.
Jordan Pickford, England's goalkeeper, came eighth with a rating of 7.32 points, while Mike Maignan, France's goalkeeper, ranked 15th, and Thibaut Courtois, Belgium's goalkeeper, came 23rd with a rating of 5.74 points.
The United States of America is hosting the 2026 World Cup along with Mexico and Canada, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time in the tournament's history, from June 11 last to July 19 of this month.
