Trabzonspor club directed a message to the Egyptian people, days after officially signing Mohamed Salah, as the latter joined the Turkish team for free on a two-season contract.
Mohamed Salah became the fourth Egyptian player in history to play for Trabzonspor, after Ayman Abdel Aziz, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Sayed Moawad.
Trabzonspor thanked all the messages and congratulations that reached the Turkish team from all over the world, especially from Egypt.
Trabzonspor said in a statement published by the club's official account on the "X" platform: "After completing the signing of Mohamed Salah, we extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for the messages, congratulations and kind wishes that reached our club from all over the world, especially from Egypt. Today, we feel great joy and pride to see this same enthusiasm filling cities from Trabzon to Cairo, from Alexandria to London, and others".

He added: "For us, football was not just a match between two teams; it is capable of uniting countries and cities, building bridges of communication between different cultures, and bringing distant distances closer".
The statement clarified: "Thanks to the city's ancient history spanning thousands of years, its stunning views on the Black Sea, its unique culture, and the lifestyle in which football is rooted in the city's origins, Trabzon offers a sporting experience unlike any other".
He continued: "Trabzonspor is the pulse of this city, and now we warmly invite our fans from all over the world to visit Trabzon, experience this unique bond for themselves, and join us at Papara Park, the home of the greatest club in the world".
The statement concluded: "Wherever you come from, our doors will be open, our city will be open, our stands will be open".
Mohamed Salah received a legendary reception from Trabzonspor fans, who filled the stands of Papara Park last Thursday.
Mohamed Salah will wear the number 10 for Trabzonspor and is preparing with the Turkish team for their first official matches in the new season, against Kasimpasa in the first round of the league.
