Trabzonspor Turkish club directed a message of thanks to everyone who was keen to congratulate it after signing the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, affirming that the deal "transcended the boundaries of football" to become a bridge linking Turkish and Egyptian cultures.

The club published a message via its official accounts expressing gratitude for the "huge number of congratulatory messages and good wishes" it received from around the world, with special mention of Egypt, following Salah’s move to the Turkish side.

In its statement, Trabzonspor said its joy stems not only from the enthusiasm the deal generated inside the Turkish city but also from seeing the same sentiments extend from Trabzon to Cairo, and from Alexandria to London and beyond, alluding to the global popularity of the Egyptian national team captain.

The club added that, for it, football "is not merely a game between two teams" but can sometimes become shared feelings that connect two cities, bring two cultures closer, or erase the thousands of kilometers separating peoples.

The club used this wave of popular support to extend an open invitation to football fans worldwide to visit Trabzon, discover the city, and experience the atmosphere around the club and its stadium.

It concluded: "We extend an invitation to everyone who wishes to experience the club’s atmosphere and our Papara Park stadium, wherever you are in the world—our doors are open, our city is open, our stands are open".
