The Saudi Football Federation has obligated the clubs of the Saudi League, the First Division League, and the Second Division League to register a Saudi assistant coach within the technical staff.
This is effective starting from the new sports season, in accordance with the regulatory controls it issued.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya reported that the Saudi Football Federation granted the clubs the freedom to add another assistant coach, whenever they wish to do so, stipulating that the Saudi assistant must be registered first, before approving the rest of the technical staff members.
The Federation clarified that in the event of the dismissal of a non-Saudi coach in the Second Division League, the club has the right to contract with a new technical staff, provided that the coach is Saudi.
It also obligated the clubs of the Third and Fourth Divisions to contract with a Saudi coach and assistant coach.
The Federation explained that the approval of technical staffs is carried out through the My SAFF platform, starting with uploading the technical staff data, then reviewing the application, verifying that the requirements are met, and issuing a professional practice card valid for one sports season, up to the approval of the technical staff for participation in the competitions.
The controls included not allowing any coach to practice their work without obtaining a professional practice card, in addition to preventing a non-Saudi coach from coaching two teams during the same sports season.
