The current edition of the 2026 World Cup competitions, currently held in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico, witnessed the departure of more than one coach for a number of national teams, and one of the most prominent reasons was the early exit.
Among the most prominent coaches who attracted attention was coach Hong Myung-bo, the technical director of the South Korean national team, who bid farewell to the tournament early from the group stage, after the Korean "Samson" collected three points.
The South Korean national team finished the group stage in third place behind the Mexican and South African teams, and here global press reports revealed that the South Korean coach received death threats.
The Tunisian national team also sparked controversy in the World Cup due to negative results during the group stage, after losing in three matches against Sweden, Japan, and the Netherlands, where the Tunisian Football Federation dismissed Sabri Lamouchi and appointed the Frenchman Hervé Renard, before the latter also left after the end of the competitions.
The last of the coaches who left is the Senegalese Babi Thiao, the technical director of the Senegal national team, where the decision of his departure came after the exit against the Belgian national team in the round of 32, and the loss with a score of 3-2, despite the "Lions of Teranga" national team being ahead by two goals without reply.
Four national teams managed to reach the semi-final stage, specifically France, Spain, England, and Argentina, where the semi-final matches will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The first match will be between France and Spain, while the second match will be between England and Argentina.
