Press reports have revealed the stance of Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann regarding continuing to lead the German national team.

The Athletic reported that Nagelsmann submitted his resignation from his position after Die Mannschaft's exit from the World Cup.
The German national team bid farewell to the World Cup in the Round of 32, losing to Paraguay 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular and extra time.
This marks the first time in history that the German national team has lost on penalties, having won all four of their previous penalty shootouts.
The German national team exited the World Cup and failed to qualify for the Round of 16 for the third consecutive time.

Nagelsmann said after the defeat that he would not resign, and that the German Football Association would decide his future.
Meanwhile, Bernd Neuendorf, President of the German Football Association, stated in an association release: "I will sit down with Nagelsmann in the coming days to calmly discuss the reasons for the exit, why the team was unable to show its usual level, and why it did not live up to its expectations and the expectations of football fans across Germany."
The association's statement read, "After this major setback, and with the upcoming challenges in mind, we cannot and will not move forward as if nothing happened."
Nagelsmann, 38, took over as Germany coach, succeeding Hansi Flick in September 2023.
Nagelsmann led the German national team to the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Championship, against eventual champions Spain.
Before signing a contract extension in January 2025 to remain in charge until the end of the 2028 European Championship.
