With the completion of the qualified teams to the quarter-final round of the 2026 World Cup, AI predictions emerge regarding the identity of the team most likely to win the title in the edition currently held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The curtain has fallen on the round of 16 matches in the 2026 World Cup at dawn today, Wednesday, to begin a new stage with the quarter-finals between the 8 qualified teams: Morocco, France, Spain, Argentina, Norway, England, Switzerland, and Belgium.

According to the latest update issued by "Opta" on July 8, 2026, the French national team topped the list of candidates to win the title, with a 28% chance of winning the World Cup.

The Spanish national team came in second place with 22%, while the English national team finished third with 17%, slightly ahead of Argentina, the defending champions, which received 16%.

At the level of reaching the final match, the French national team also has the highest percentage at 44%, followed by Spain, England, and Argentina with 36% for each team.

As for qualifying for the semi-finals, the predictions indicate that France has the greatest chances at 73%, ahead of Spain (70%), Argentina (69%), and England (62%).

In contrast, the chances of the rest of the teams declined, as "Opta" gave Norway a 6% chance of winning the title, compared to 4% for both Morocco and Belgium, while Switzerland came last among the teams qualified for the quarter-finals with 3%.
