Gawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, made important statements about the Egyptian national team's journey in the 2026 World Cup competitions.
Today, Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received the players of the national football team and the technical and administrative staff in the city of Alamein, in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Mr. Gawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Engineer Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association.
Minister of Sports praises President El-Sisi's statements
The supreme leadership of the Egyptian state was keen to honor the Egyptian national team delegation, which delivered a commendable performance in the 2026 World Cup, reaching the round of 16 and losing to Argentina with a score of (3-2).
The official page of the Ministry of Youth and Sports published on the "Facebook" platform the statements of the Minister of Sports, which were as follows: "The honor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in receiving the heroes of the Egyptian national team and granting them medals of honor is the highest medal for everyone who exerted effort to raise the name of the homeland."
He added: "Receiving the Egyptian national team represents a clear message that the Egyptian state appreciates its distinguished sons and celebrates everyone who presents an honorable model in representing Egypt."
He continued: "The reception by His Excellency the President today will remain a historic moment in the memory of this generation, and will grant a great moral boost to every Egyptian player who dreams of wearing the national team jersey and confirms that dedication, diligence, and commitment are appreciated by the Egyptian state."
He went on: "The Egyptian national team did not achieve a sporting accomplishment only, but presented an honorable model in performance, discipline, and fighting spirit, and was able to gain the respect and appreciation of everyone inside and outside Egypt, which reflects the authentic values of the Egyptian character."
He continued: "The honoring by His Excellency the President confirms that the Egyptian state does not measure success by the result of a match only, but by what its sons provide in terms of commitment, determination, and national spirit, which are the messages embodied by the team throughout its journey in the tournament."
Minister Gawhar Nabil indicated during his statements: "The directives of His Excellency the President today represent a roadmap for the future of Egyptian football, through continuing work, building on this achievement, and supporting the national technical staff."
The Minister of Sports concluded: "We aspire to open the way toward discovering talents in various parts of the republic, so that we may produce new generations that continue the path of success."
