Pembe said in statements on Al-Nahar channel: "I did not expect this heavy defeat, especially after we conceded three goals due to lack of concentration, failure to follow instructions, and individual errors."

He added: "I didn't even think about losing; I was thinking at least of putting up a heroic performance, but we were unlucky. The absence of Mohamed Salah did not lead to laxity in defense. Unfortunately, the result proved my predictions correct; I did not expect to lose at this level, with this margin, and by this number of goals."

He continued: "The Egyptian national team is working on building a strong squad after Mohamed Salah's departure. Egypt has a group of highly experienced players. I see no problem with them playing without Salah."

He concluded: "The team's collapse began after the second goal. This goal should not have been scored by the Egyptian national team."
