Mustafa Shobier, the goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team and Al-Ahly club, stressed his desire to play in the English Premier League.

Shobier participated with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Shobier said via MBC Egypt channel: "I watch all my matches after they end to correct my mistakes, but so far I cannot watch the Argentina match again".
He continued, "Zico is terrifying inside the penalty area, and we always train together on penalties and he told me that he knew I would save the penalty against Iran and therefore I completed the play and cleared the ball after I saved it".
He added that Hamdi Fathy's shirt was torn due to an Argentine player pulling it, and when he informed the referee of that, he showed him a yellow card".
He continued, "Playing in the World Cup was very strong and competitive, and therefore the referees do not award simple fouls that are awarded in other tournaments".
He revealed, "I cried intensely after the Argentina match because of losing in this way".
He stressed, "Mohamed Salah does a lot of things in the Egyptian national team camp that people don't know anything about, and many situations end because of him and he advises all the players".
He added, "Yassine Bounou is a great goalkeeper and a respectable personality and I always communicate with him and he messaged me after the Argentina match, and I spoke to him after he saved the penalty against the Netherlands, and he is one of the best goalkeepers in Arab history and makes the difference for the Moroccan national team".
He added, "It is natural for a comparison to occur between me and Yassine Bounou, as he has played at a high level of football and is very distinguished in penalties and showed that in the 2022 World Cup, just as he is very distinguished in saving any one-on-one".
He stressed, "Professional offers? So far I don't know anything and any player certainly wishes to turn professional, but everything will be through Al-Ahly, certainly any goalkeeper wishes to play in the English Premier League as it is the strongest in competition and certainly I have the ambition to play there".
He added, "We want to build on what we have reached in the World Cup and that is by raising the level of the league and improving the quality of football in Egypt and the stadiums and to trust ourselves that we can compete with the biggest national teams in the world, what the Egyptian national team did is a great achievement that has never happened before in the history of football, and therefore it is natural for a great state of joy to occur for the Egyptian fans with what we achieved in the World Cup".
He added, "We suffered severe fatigue due to traveling more than once inside America and flying for long hours and waiting in airports and intense inspection".
He concluded, "President Sisi honored us in a very distinguished way and gave us everything and we were in a state of great happiness and honor after meeting him, and I was even happier when he praised me along with Mohamed Salah".
The Egyptian national team reached the round of 16 of the World Cup for the first time in its history.
