Moroccan newspaper Al-Batoula revealed that the CAF Executive Board will hold an emergency meeting via video conferencing technology next Thursday, August 6, to discuss a number of organizational and marketing files related to the continental confederation's competitions.

The newspaper explained that it obtained the full version of the meeting agenda, topped by a presentation from the Acting Secretary General of the African Union, Nigerian Samson Adamo, on the latest arrangements for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco, alongside updates on the organization of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
It added that the meeting will discuss the Club Competitions Committee's recommendation regarding a proposal to develop the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, in addition to approving the date and venue for the 2026 African Super Cup and determining the date and venue for the 2026 Women's CAF Champions League.
The agenda also includes setting the date and venue for the 2027 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which qualifies for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, as well as exploring the possibility of providing support to African teams qualified for the 2026 U-17 World Cup and discussing a project to launch a new U-17 Girls' Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Al-Batoula noted that the Executive Board will also discuss the date and venue for the 2026 CAF Awards ceremony, alongside the files of countries wishing to host the Africa Cup of Nations in the 2028, 2032, and 2036 editions, as well as the commercial offers for these editions.
The meeting will also examine the proposed expansion of funding for football development projects submitted by FIFA.
In the same context, the Secretary General will present details of the African Nations League project, which has sparked widespread controversy in recent times, including a review of the proposed format for the 2029, 2031, and 2033 editions, in addition to the bidding model for hosting those editions.
The newspaper concluded that the meeting will also be dedicated to discussing a report on the decisions of the judicial bodies and compliance bodies of the Confederation of African Football, which include the Disciplinary Committee, the Appeals Committee, the Audit and Compliance Committee, and the Governance Committee.
