England coach Thomas Tuchel decided to make a surprise substitution in the Three Lions lineup against Argentina.

The England and Argentina teams meet at exactly ten o'clock in the evening today, Wednesday, in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup.

The Athletic revealed Tuchel's decision to start with Morgan Rogers in the right wing position.

The England coach preferred to start with Rogers at the expense of Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka.

Rogers has only played one match as a starter against Panama in the final round of the group stage.

He came on as a substitute in all other matches against Croatia for 18 minutes, against Ghana for 17 minutes, against Mexico for one minute, and against Norway for 31 minutes.

He succeeded in contributing one goal against Norway in the quarter-final round.

Tuchel did not use him in the match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the round of 32, in which the England team succeeded in turning their one-goal deficit into a 2-1 victory.

Madueke started on the right side in 4 matches, and Saka in two matches.

The winner of that match will meet Spain in the final scheduled for next Sunday.

The loser will play against France on Saturday in the third-place match.
