German club RB Leipzig announced the signing of Moroccan midfielder Naïl El Aynaoui from Italian club AS Roma during the ongoing summer transfer window.
In an official statement, RB Leipzig revealed that El Aynaoui has been signed on a one-season loan deal with an option to buy.
Naïl El Aynaoui leaves Roma after just one season, having joined the Giallorossi in the 2025 campaign from French club RC Lens.
The 25-year-old featured in 35 matches for Roma last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
El Aynaoui began his career with French club AS Nancy before moving to RC Lens; across both clubs, the midfielder made 117 appearances, scoring 13 goals and registering 6 assists.
Naïl has earned 22 caps for the Morocco national team and was a key player in the squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
El Aynaoui started in all six of Morocco's matches at the World Cup.
El Aynaoui stated: "RB Leipzig not only enjoys an excellent reputation, but its dynamic, high-intensity playing style and desire to dominate possession suit me perfectly and align with my strengths. I am eagerly looking forward to joining Leipzig, the city, and embracing the sporting challenges in the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, and the DFB-Pokal."
He added: "Discussions with the management and with Martin Demichelis were very convincing from the outset, which made my decision easy."
