French club Nice has officially announced the signing of Algerian player Mohamed Amine Amoura from German club Wolfsburg during the current summer transfer window.
Amoura joins Nice on a one-season loan deal, with an option to buy, according to a statement released by the French club.
With his move to Nice, Amoura will be teammates with Egyptian defender Mohamed Abdelmonem, who has been playing for the French club since the summer of 2024.
French reports indicate that the deal for Amoura's transfer to Nice includes a buy option valued at approximately 20 million euros.
The 26-year-old Amoura arrived at the club after a European career that began in Switzerland with Lugano, where he made 66 appearances and scored 17 goals between 2021 and 2023.
The Algerian striker then moved to Belgium via Standard Liège, where he delivered his best performances, scoring 22 goals and providing 7 assists across all competitions during the 2023-2024 season, contributing to the team's Belgian Cup title.
In the summer of 2024, Amoura transferred to Wolfsburg, where he made 67 appearances and scored 18 goals before leaving the German club following its relegation to the second division.
It is worth noting that the Algerian striker did not feature for Wolfsburg at the start of the current season before his move to Nice.
Amoura expressed his happiness at joining Nice, confirming his good knowledge of the French league and the club, as well as the presence of several friends who have previously played for the team.
In statements to Nice's official website, the player said he is aware that last season was not easy, but he believes the club's ambitions remain high, pointing to his admiration for what the management and coach have presented, as well as the enthusiasm of the team's fans.
