The Egyptian Football Association is putting the final touches on an agreement with its South African counterpart regarding a friendly match between the two national teams.

According to information obtained by FilGoal.com, the Football Association is finalizing arrangements for a friendly match between Egypt and South Africa to be held on October 4 at Cairo Stadium.
The Football Association took advantage of the South African national team's presence in Cairo for their match against Eritrea, as Egypt was chosen to host all of South Africa's qualifying matches for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Football Association communicated with the South African federation, and an agreement was reached to utilize the South African team's presence in Egypt for their match against Eritrea on either September 29 or 30 to arrange a friendly game. Indeed, the South African team agreed to remain in Egypt until October 4 to play a friendly match against the Pharaohs.
The Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, is preparing to begin its 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with matches against Angola and South Sudan next September.
Egypt will face Angola at 10:00 PM on September 25 at Cairo Stadium in the first round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Egypt will play its second qualifying match against South Sudan on September 29 in Juba at 3:00 PM Cairo time.
Egypt is drawn in Group 2 of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside Angola, South Sudan, and Malawi.
The Egyptian national team is also seeking to arrange a friendly match in September against either Tanzania, Ghana, or Rwanda.
