The Egyptian Football Association is putting the final touches on an agreement with its South African counterpart regarding a friendly match between the two national teams.

Pitso Mosimane, the former coach of Al-Ahly, currently heads the South African national team.

According to information obtained by FilGoal.com, the Football Association is finalizing arrangements for a friendly match between Egypt and South Africa to be held on October 4 at Cairo Stadium.

The Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, is preparing to begin the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with matches against Angola and South Sudan next September.

Egypt will face Angola at 10:00 PM on September 25 at Cairo Stadium in the first round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Egypt's second qualifier match will be against South Sudan on September 29 in Juba at 3:00 PM Cairo time.

Egypt is placed in Group Two of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside Angola, South Sudan, and Malawi.

The Egyptian national team is seeking to arrange a friendly match in September against either Tanzania, Ghana, or Rwanda.
