The Egyptian Football Association announced the renewal of Hossam Hassan's contract as head coach of the Egypt national team, extending his tenure until 2030.
Hossam Hassan achieved a historic milestone with the Egypt national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reaching the Round of 16 before being eliminated by Argentina with a 2-3 defeat.

The Football Association stated in an official press release: "In accordance with the decision of the Egyptian Football Association's Board of Directors to approve renewing the contract of the Egypt national senior team's technical staff, a friendly session was held today resulting in the renewal of Hossam Hassan's contract as head coach of the Egypt national football team until 2030."
The statement continued: "The contract signing ceremony took place during a session attended by Hany Abou Rida, Chairman of the Football Association's Board of Directors; Khaled El-Dorandly, Vice President of the Association; and Mostafa Azam, Secretary-General of the Association, alongside Hossam Hassan, Ibrahim Hassan (Team Manager), and Walid Badr (Administrative Director of the Team)."
This contract renewal comes within the framework of the Football Association Board's commitment to providing stability for the Egypt national team's technical staff and continuing work in the upcoming phase according to the established goals and plans for the national team.
Under Hossam Hassan's leadership, the Egypt national team is scheduled to face Angola and South Sudan on September 25 and 29 respectively, in the first and second rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tournament.
