Mustafa Shobier, goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team and Al-Ahly, confirmed that the national team players pledged to reach the farthest stage in the 2026 World Cup tournament.
The Egyptian national team lost to its Argentine counterpart, three goals to two, on Tuesday evening, within the round of 16 matches of the 2026 World Cup, so the Pharaohs bid farewell to the tournament.

Mustafa Shobier said in statements during the Egyptian national team players having lunch with President Sisi, today, Saturday: "We pledged to each other from the first day in the World Cup, on the necessity of reaching the last stage in the World Cup, and not just an honorable performance."
He added: "We were able to achieve the fans' ambition, we hope to always raise Egypt's name, and honor the national team in all international forums."
The Egyptian national team returned to Cairo yesterday, Friday, following the end of its journey in the 2026 World Cup.
The goalkeeper of the Red Castle shone in the 2026 World Cup, where he saved two penalty kicks against both Iran and Argentina.
