Mostafa Shobeir, Al-Ahly's goalkeeper, has put an end to the controversy surrounding an alleged crisis with his club that had delayed the renewal of his contract, before both parties reached an agreement.

Shobeir has officially renewed his contract with Al-Ahly until the summer of 2029.
Speaking on Al-Ahly TV, Mostafa Shobeir said: "Some believed that my agent requested the inclusion of a penalty clause, and that Al-Ahly Club did not agree to it, causing the delay in renewal. This claim has no basis in truth."
He added, "Al-Ahly initially agreed to include a penalty clause, but we only disagreed on the contract duration. However, the club later changed its decision, which I respected, and I have renewed my contract. Praise be to God, I remain at my home."
He revealed, "One of the club officials contacted me and explained that including a penalty clause would not be a correct or appropriate decision given the club's current policy. I understood the situation and renewed my contract without a penalty clause."
Concluding his remarks, he said, "The Shobeir family name is generally associated with Al-Ahly Club. Even if any misunderstanding occurred due to circulating false news, I became the national team's goalkeeper thanks first to God, then to Al-Ahly Club."
According to FilGoal.com, Mostafa Shobeir will receive an annual salary of 25 million Egyptian pounds under his new contract.
In addition, he will receive bonuses worth 10 million Egyptian pounds linked to winning trophies with Al-Ahly.
Furthermore, for any sponsorship deal brought by the goalkeeper to Al-Ahly, he will receive 70% of its financial value, while the club will receive 30%, provided it does not conflict with the club's existing sponsors.
Thus, Shobeir becomes the fourth player to renew his contract with Al-Ahly recently, following Imam Ashour, Marwan Attia, and Omar Sayed Moawad.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper has played 72 matches wearing the Al-Ahly jersey, keeping clean sheets in 39 games and conceding 46 goals.
Shobeir led the Egyptian national team to qualify for the Round of 16 in the World Cup, where they were eliminated by Argentina after losing 3-2.
Shobeir delivered an impressive performance, saving two penalty kicks: one from Iran's Mehdi Taremi during the group stage, and another from Argentina's star Lionel Messi in the Round of 16 match.
