Pitso Mosimane, the head coach of the South African national team, is heading towards making a number of changes to the "Bafana Bafana" lineup during the upcoming friendly match against the Egyptian national team, scheduled for October 4 at Cairo International Stadium, marking the conclusion of the September camp.

According to the website "The South African", Mosimane may resort to resting several key players after competing in two matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea, and giving an opportunity to players who have not yet featured under his leadership, amid the possibility of Mohamed Salah's absence from the match.

The Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, is preparing to face South Africa following a goalless draw with Angola in the first round of the qualifiers, before thrashing South Sudan five-nil.

Mosimane gives opportunities to goalkeepers and substitutes

Mosimane is considering resting first-choice goalkeeper Ronwen Williams against the Egyptian national team, and giving an opportunity to Sipho Chaine or Ricardo Goss.

The newspaper mentioned that Fawaaz Basadien, Thabang Matuludi, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Buso Dithethane, Tashreeq Matthews, and Chandré Campbell will not participate, which opens the door for some of them to enter the lineup during the friendly match.

Mosimane had previously selected a final squad of 30 players to contest the matches against Guinea and Eritrea, in addition to the friendly against Egypt.
