Former Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam Mido shared his views on Celtic’s signing of Haithem Hassan, who caught the eye with his performance in the 2026 World Cup.
Mido offered encouraging words to Celtic regarding their signing of the Egyptian winger, who joined from Real Oviedo this summer.
Speaking to the global outlet "Talksport," Mido said: "He is a top-class talent. Frankly, we didn’t know much about him a year ago because he was not born in Egypt but raised in France."

He added: "He played for the France U18 and U21 teams, but after we had the chance to watch him with the Egyptian national team, it became clear that this young man possesses immense talent. I believe he will perform brilliantly with Celtic; he is an excellent signing for the club."
He concluded: "Haithem Hassan is excellent in one-on-one situations and has a strong personality. He can create and score goals; he is a top-class talent."
Celtic had begun monitoring Haithem Hassan before the match against Argentina, and his signing was not based on a single match performance. Last season, he provided only three assists in 38 appearances for Real Oviedo.
