Haitham Hassan: Proud to represent Egypt in the World Cup

Haitham Hassan, the star who recently transferred to the ranks of Scottish Celtic, confirmed that he feels proud to represent the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup.

Hassan represented the French national team at the youth level before playing his first international match with the first Egyptian national team, where he participated in the Pharaohs' friendly against Saudi Arabia, then against Argentina in the World Cup.

The winger delivered a distinguished performance during Egypt's round-of-16 match against the Argentine national team, holders of the 2026 World Cup title, despite the Pharaohs' exit from the tournament after an exciting 3-2 defeat.

Haitham Hassan said in statements to the Scottish Celtic channel: "It was a great honor for me, and I was very proud to represent Egypt in the 2026 World Cup".

He added: "Egypt is a big country where we love football, and we felt this love during the tournament.. It is every player's dream to represent his country in such a tournament".

In another context, Hassan confirmed that he intends to leave a distinctive mark and contribute to achieving more successes with Celtic Club, where he said: "Here everything revolves around winning, and this is what I definitely aspire to".

Haitham Hassan concluded his statements by saying: "We must prove that we are still the best team in Scotland, qualify for the Champions League, and achieve distinguished results in European tournaments".

Celtic Club announced yesterday evening, Wednesday, its signing of Haitham Hassan, coming from Spanish Real Oviedo, on a contract extending for 4 seasons, with the option to extend for an additional season.
