US President Donald Trump sent a message to the International Football Federation "FIFA" after the cancellation of Folarin Balogun's suspension penalty.

FIFA had decided to suspend the implementation of Balogun's one-year suspension on a trial basis.
Balogun was sent off during the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina and was supposed to be suspended for at least one match before FIFA canceled the decision.
Trump wrote on his Truth account: "Thank you FIFA for doing the right thing and correcting a great injustice".
According to Ben Jacobs, a journalist at The Athletic, the White House made a direct call with FIFA to ask Infantino to review the red card.
A FIFA source told Jacobs that any influence from the White House cannot affect the decision, due to the powers granted by Article 27 as well as the independence of the disciplinary committee that issued the decision.
The US national team is preparing to face Belgium tomorrow, Monday, in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
