Manchester City English club announced its official signing of the Argentine goalkeeper Jerónimo Rulli coming from the French Olympique Marseille.
The Argentine goalkeeper signed a contract with Manchester City that extends until the summer of 2028, after completing the necessary procedures and obtaining the international permit.
The deal represents a return for Rulli to the Etihad Stadium, after he previously joined Manchester City during the 2016-2017 season, but he did not participate in any official matches with the first team at that time.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper joins Pep Guardiola's squad with extensive experience gained from his career in European stadiums, having played for Estudiantes, Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Ajax Amsterdam, and Montpellier before moving to Marseille.
Internationally, Rulli played eight matches for the Argentina national team and was part of the "Tango" squad that won the 2022 World Cup title, as well as contributing to the victory in the 2024 Copa America.
Rulli's most notable club achievement is winning the Europa League title with Villarreal in the 2020-2021 season, after playing a prominent role in the victory over Manchester United in the final match.
Rulli's signing strengthens Manchester City's options in the goalkeeper position, benefiting from his long experience in European and international stadiums ahead of the new season.
