Dio Kasozi, president of Ugandan club Kithara, announced substantial bonuses for the team's players ahead of their match against Al Ahly in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ugandan club Kithara will face Al Ahly on the evening of October 17 at Hoima Stadium, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Kasozi said in statements during a press conference held this Thursday evening: "We must seize this opportunity to inform the fans, the media, and everyone that the team will arrive at the stadium, and we expect to win the match."

He added: "There are Ugandan teams that have previously defeated this side. It is true that Al Ahly is a big team, but we excel at beating strong teams, so we expect to come and secure the victory."

He continued: "If we qualify for the group stage, the players will receive 400 million Ugandan shillings (equivalent to $10,000) to share among themselves. Once you hear they have qualified, contact them, as they will receive these funds immediately."

He further stated: "But even if they do not qualify, they still have their own bonuses, and they know it. With every appearance, they earn money; with every goal scored, they earn money; and whenever they perform well and excite their fans, they earn money."

Kasozi concluded his remarks by saying: "They have a special record book where these things are noted, which is why you usually see them carrying a notebook. There is someone who keeps a notebook and records everything for them; any good performance comes with its own financial reward."

It is worth noting that the return leg between Al Ahly and Ugandan club Kithara will take place on October 25 at Cairo International Stadium. The winner on aggregate will advance to the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
