Moamen Soliman clarifies to FilGoal the truth regarding negotiations to coach the Iraq national team
Al-Mousawi stated in comments via Modern MTE channel: "The suggestion of Moamen Soliman's name for coaching the Iraq national team is not surprising due to his successes in Iraq. He is one of the best and most successful coaches in the Iraqi league, and he could potentially coach the Iraq national team in the future."
Reports circulated about the former Zamalek coach being nominated to replace Australian Graham Arnold as the head coach of the Lions of Mesopotamia after failing to advance past the group stage at the Gulf Cup "Khaleeji 27".
He added, "Our contract with Graham Arnold continues until next January, and it might end thereafter."
He continued, "Nominating Moamen Soliman to coach the Iraqi national team is very natural, but so far these are merely conclusions drawn by Iraqi media and fans."
Al-Mousawi concluded, "I believe this is due to the successes of this distinguished coach in Iraqi football."
Moamen Soliman boasts a significant history in Iraq, having achieved seven titles, including three league titles, an Iraq Cup title, and a Super Cup title with Al-Shorta, along with an Iraq Cup title with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.
Soliman has become the second-most decorated coach in terms of winning the Iraqi league title, with three titles, trailing Ayoub Odisho who has four titles.
Soliman took charge of Al-Karma in Iraq during the summer, and the team currently leads the league standings with 20 points after eight rounds.
Previously, Moamen Soliman coached Egyptian league clubs Zamalek, Smouha, and Misr El-Maqasa before moving to the Iraqi league.
