Al-Akhdar (the Green Team) reached the final for the first time since 2019, when they faced Bahrain and lost by a single goal.
The Saudi national team has won the Gulf Cup three times, most recently in 2003.

Saudi Arabia topped their group with 9 points after beating Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq in the first round, before overcoming Qatar in the semifinal.
Qatar reached the semifinals after finishing second in Group B behind the UAE, based on goal difference.
