Moamen Soliman clarifies to FilGoal the truth about negotiations to coach the Iraq national team
Al-Mousawi said in statements via Modern MTE channel: "The suggestion of Moamen Soliman's name to coach the Iraq national team is not surprising, due to his successes in Iraq. He is one of the best and most successful coaches in the Iraqi league, and he may coach the Iraq national team in the future."
Reports circulated about the former Zamalek coach being nominated to replace Australian Graham Arnold as the coach of the Lions of Mesopotamia after failing to pass the group stage at the Gulf Cup "Khaleeji 27".
He added, "Our contract with Graham Arnold continues until next January, and perhaps his contract will end afterwards."
He continued, "Nominating Moamen Soliman to coach the Iraqi national team is a very natural matter, but so far it is merely speculation from the Iraqi media and fans."
Al-Mousawi concluded, "I believe this is due to the successes of this distinguished coach in Iraqi football."
Moamen Soliman has a great history in Iraq by winning 7 titles, comprising 3 league titles, an Iraq Cup title, and a Super Cup title with Al-Shorta, and an Iraq Cup title with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.
Moamen Soliman has become the second most decorated coach with the Iraqi league title, with 3 titles, behind Ayoub Odisho who has 4 titles.
Soliman took over coaching Iraq's Al-Karma in the summer, and the team occupies the top of the league standings with 20 points after 8 rounds.
Moamen Soliman previously coached clubs including Zamalek, Smouha, and Masr.
