Piero Ausilio, the sports director of Inter club, revealed his club's interest in signing the Argentine Cristian Romero, Tottenham defender, during the current summer transfer window.

Romero's contract with Tottenham ends in the summer of 2029.
Ausilio said via the Sky Sport network: "Certainly it is a deal we are trying to complete and work on with the player and the club".
He continued, "Such matters need some time, but there is real interest in signing him".
Romero participated in the 2026 World Cup with the Argentine national team, and they suffered a defeat against Spain in the final by a goal to nothing.
Media outlets reported that Inter is competing with Barcelona to obtain the services of the Tottenham defender.
Romero played 156 matches with Tottenham, scoring 13 goals and providing 7 assists.
