Ibrahim Hassan said in statements via MBC Egypt: "The crisis began when a small child who was celebrating his birthday tried to take a commemorative photo with Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, before things escalated and problems arose that later appeared in videos circulated on social media."
He added that the security officer present at the time of the incident also issued an official apology for what happened, noting that FIFA handled the situation quickly and apologized to the Egyptian delegation.
Ibrahim Hassan continued his statements with a decisive message, confirming that he will not accept any transgressions against members of the Egyptian delegation, saying: "I will not remain silent for anyone who comes against any Egyptian."
The manager of the Egyptian national team spoke about the Pharaohs' match against Australia, concluding: "I swore to Hossam Hassan that the first penalty kick that the Australian team takes in the penalty shootout will be missed."
