Harry Kane, the striker of the England national team, commented on the praise he recently received from US President Donald Trump, after the Three Lions qualified at the expense of Mexico with a score of 3-2, in a match during which the England captain scored the decisive penalty.
This comes hours before the match that the England national team will play against Norway in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, as Thomas Tuchel seeks to reach the final match and win the title.
Trump had previously praised Kane, saying: "I think Kane is a great player, I played golf with him and I admire him a lot, he is a good golf player, he is really excellent."
During the press conference for the match against Norway, Kane confirmed that he had previously played golf with Trump, saying: "We played together about a year and a half ago, he invited me to play with him when I was in Palm Beach, it was really a strange experience, just meeting him and playing golf with him."
He added: "It was a fantastic experience with him, I hope to be able to play golf at the same level as him when I reach his age, it was a unique experience and I am very grateful for it".
The England national team captain's statement sparked widespread interest before the anticipated confrontation, amid increasing talk about his unusual relationship with the US President.
