Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the Egyptian national team, came out to speak about the Pharaohs' loss to Argentina, in the match that brought the two teams together within the World Cup competitions, but the Pharaohs' coach directed fiery messages during his appearance that lasted for a few minutes.
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the World Cup competitions with a loss to Argentina, with a score of (3-2) in the match that took place within the round of 16 competitions of the Mundial, and was held on the pitch of Atlanta Stadium.
Hossam Hassan, coach of the Egyptian national team, began his television statements, which he made via the "beIN Sports" channel, saying: "Thank God, we were the better side.. What happened to us was not fair, our goal was disallowed and I don't know why, the score could have become (3-1) but it became (2-2), Hamdy Fathy was subjected to a pull inside the penalty area".
He added: "Perhaps what happened has something to do with marketing, paving the way for the world champion and the continued presence of Lionel Messi in the tournament, we gave everything we had and I thank the team and my message to the Egyptian, Arab and African people, it is possible to exert great effort but there are other difficult factors".
He continued: "I wished we could make you happier than that and I don't like losing, especially when it is unfair, there are other things happening outside the technicalities of football and outside the pitch, we faced the world champion who received support from all sides".
He went on: "We have our own style, and thank God I was confident in developing the team, and imposing my style which I applied in all matches, but there are external factors that affect the result, even if mistakes occurred, not getting your right is a mistake".
He directed a message to the Egyptian national team fans, saying: "My message to the fans? I am sorry, I wanted to continue as far as possible in the World Cup, but everything that happened was in a short time, and we presented a level that honors Egyptian and Arab football".
Hossam Hassan added: "My ambition does not stop and neither does Egyptian football's ambition, we did not care about the opponent and we wanted to continue in the tournament, and I am not afraid of anyone and the match was difficult for the opponent, and I am happy with what I presented but I am not happy with the external factors that occurred and we will not stop and we have several other goals ahead".
He continued: "I thanked the players and overlooked any mistakes and I feel satisfied with the effort that was exerted, most of the Egyptian national team's squad is from the Egyptian league, and the other teams include players professional in European leagues, and despite that we were able to keep up with any opponent and we will fight for the presence of Egyptian football in the world and I hope for justice to exist".
He concluded his speech: "We were wronged in the match against Belgium and did not get a penalty, and today the same thing happened again, and fatal mistakes occurred and I am happy with the team and what it achieved, and I say to the fans 'you have the right over me' and be proud of the team and what it presented and I know that your ambition and mine is greater than that".
