Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, expressed his satisfaction with the Pharaohs' 5-0 victory over South Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Hossam Hassan said at the press conference: "It was natural to draw with Angola after a long period without playing matches following the end of the World Cup and due to lack of physical readiness after the start of the league."

He added, "The match was difficult despite the large winning scoreline because of the high temperatures and unfamiliarity with playing on artificial turf pitches."

He continued, "We studied South Sudan well, identified the strengths and weaknesses of their team, and worked on that."

He went on, "I am satisfied with the performance of all players, whether those who started the match or the substitutes."

He clarified, "I did not criticize the Egyptian league; I only spoke about players not yet reaching the required physical level because only five rounds of the league have passed."

He further stated, "I am fortunate to have major Egyptian clubs such as Al Ahly and Zamalek, as we have the biggest and best clubs in Africa."

He concluded his remarks, "The Egyptian national team and the clubs complement each other, and we cooperate together to raise Egypt's name."

Egypt defeated South Sudan 5-0 in the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Egypt's goals were scored by Omar Marmoush (two), Ziko, Ibrahim Adel, and Hamza Abdel Karim.

Egypt raised its points tally to 4 in the group.
